Membership is open to Virginia railroads, their customers, and others interested in the Commonwealth's rail industry.
Who can join
The VRA welcomes four categories of members across the rail industry.
Member Railroads
Class II or Class III short line railroads, belt lines, or switch carriers operating within Virginia.
Class I Members
Class I railroads or passenger carriers located or operating within Virginia.
Customer Members
Any railroad customer shipping or receiving freight by rail in the Commonwealth.
Associate Members
Any individual, organization, or company interested in supporting Virginia railroads.
